Dr Connie Eaves: Canadian Pioneer

I'm a scientist.
I work in a biomedical laboratory.
We think of ourselves more as discoverers,
like people going out in boats across the ocean to find
something that they're not quite sure what's at the other end.
We're a little bit like engineers, if you like,
in the biomedical arena and that's part of pioneering
if you like.
I'm most proud of the kids that I've trained, I think,
and the work that we've done as a group.
Doing science is like having a family,
so one is proud of the accomplishments of the group.
You have to make sacrifices and you have to live within your own
limits and possibilities, but you should aim very high
and train yourself to achieve the dreams that you can have.
