Natasha Sharp - Stories - Women's History Month 2014

Natasha Sharp - Stories - Women's History Month 2014

I started my career in Canadian banking
and I recognized that there were a lot of businesses
that Canadian banks just can't serve.
So I saw that there was a business opportunity
to be a lender to those types of businesses.
In August, we just partnered with Sprott Asset Management,
that's one of the biggest asset manager firms in Canada,
so we're feeling great about the progression.
In starting up a business you always have to be patient
and really focus on why it is that you want to do
what you're doing and what value it is
that you bring to the table that others are not.
I think you really have to focus on who your customers are,
like what do you bring that others don't already?
What are you going to do differently?
How are you going to serve their needs better
than how their needs are already getting served?
I think that if you have a really clear vision
as to what the answers to those questions are,
then you just go for it.
Talk to a lot of people.
There's so many people out there that have so much experience.
Bring those to the table
and then just keep going after your dream.
