Purpose: This 36-month project will develop a community plan to identify gaps, priorities, and strategies in addressing gender-based violence in Blackfalds, Alberta. Participants in community planning will include women and girls, community organizations and businesses, law and first responders, and the town council. To inform the plan, the organization will conduct a gender based analysis to identify rates of gender-based violence in collaboration with by-law enforcement, the RCMP, and Red Deer College. The community plan is expected to become an integral part of the Town Council Framework for Safe Community Development.
