Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Centre d’intégration au marché de l’emploi
Location: Sherbrooke, Quebec
Date: 2012-03-01
Value: $296,486.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 36-month project will establish a community plan to address barriers to women’s economic security in three regional county municipalities (RCMs) in Estrie. A community plan to increase women’s economic security will engage stakeholders in addressing obstacles to employment faced by women in the region, and highlight the importance of gender diversity in traditionally male-dominated sectors. A particular focus will be the traditionally male-dominated sectors in these municipalities (mines, pulp and paper, and forestry), in which women are under-represented. The plan’s design will be informed by a labour market study, focus groups, and consultations with stakeholders, employers, and women in the region. Employers will be engaged to assist in identifying promising employment practices.
