Date: 2012-11-21
Value: $174,149.00

Purpose: This 20 month project will work to increase the economic prosperity of unemployed or underemployed girls and young women between the ages of 17 to 25 in Windsor-Essex County. A youth council will be established to lead the process of identifying barriers, and prioritizing strategies to address these barriers to economic prosperity. Parallel to the youth council, an advisory committee composed of community stakeholders will identify gaps and barriers in their services that may prevent young women from realizing their economic potential. In consultation with the community stakeholders, the youth council will develop a Community Action Plan, and create a ‘prosperity map’ to address the identified barriers.
