Purpose: This 24-month project will engage young women, girls, community members, ethno-cultural agencies and service providers in identifying and developing strategies to address violence committed in the name of so-called “honour” in London, ON. Girls and young women will act as facilitators in consulting with others who have been, or are at-risk of, honour-based violence to discuss their experiences and identify their needs, and assist in the development of tools. Key community stakeholders, including religious leaders, will assist in determining strengths and gaps in existing policies and services, and identify priorities and develop a coordinated community response to address this form of violence.
