Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Date: 2013-02-28
Value: $200,000.00

Purpose: This 24-month project will address violence against immigrant and refugee women from diverse ethno-cultural communities in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. The project will build partnerships and collaboration between community agencies and stakeholders so they can better identify and respond to the specific needs of women girls who are risk of, or have experienced, violence in the name of so-called "honour". Immigrant men and boys, as well as a broad range of partners including settlement workers, law enforcement, school and child welfare personnel, and other social service professionals will be engaged to develop and implement a strategy to prevent and reduce this form of violence against women and girls.
