Purpose: This 24-month project will engage young francophone women and girls, community partners and experts in the Ottawa region to prevent cyberviolence against young women and girls. Through the project, an advisory committee will be established of various stakeholders to better understand the scope and impact of this form of violence. Young women and girls will be engaged to identify the issues of cyberviolence they face, and increase their understanding of the issue. Young men will also be engaged to examine how they can contribute to reducing the prevalence of this form of violence. The advisory committee will examine various types of cyberviolence, identify key partners, and propose strategies that reflect the realities of current social network platforms to address the issue. Project partners, young women and girls will be engaged to implement strategies to address this form of gender based violence in the community.
