Purpose: This 31-month project will create a sustainable community advisory working group to advance the interests of self employed women on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. In partnership with key stakeholders, a leadership group trained in gender based analysis will address the professional and systemic barriers facing self-employed women to increase economic growth opportunities within the region. The activities will be piloted in different locations throughout the Sunshine Coast to increase the financial viability of women owned businesses and create a climate where women's businesses are recognized as a key driver in the local economy.
