Purpose: This 36-month project will increase and strengthen the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in skilled trades and technical professions in Prince Edward Island. By conducting workplace assessments with selected employers to examine systemic barriers to women, an industry-led action plan will be developed. This will support employers to identify promising opportunities and develop resources and tools to support positive changes in workplaces. These could vary from ensuring employers have sexual harassment policies to promoting women-friendly environments and positive workplace culture. The strategies implemented will be evaluated and modified as needed to share, and implement, with other skilled trades employers across the province.
