|Purpose: ||This is a supplement to the following 24-month project which engaged girls and young women in Toronto in identifying and addressing cyberviolence. Three front-line agencies have partnered to engage local school boards, and community and women's organizations in the project. A team of young women, from each of the agencies, assisted in conducting a needs assessment to understand the issue, including an examination of the recruitment of girls and young women into the sex trade through social media. The findings of the needs assessment will be used to inform the development of a strategy to address cyberviolence against young women and girls in their community.
Supplement: Supplemental funding will expand partnerships with educators, school boards, front-line and social workers, as well as support enhancements to an online portal to strengthen outreach and knowledge sharing within community organizations and service providers.
