Claire Deschênes: Canadian Pioneer

Claire Deschênes: Canadian Pioneer

In my family, my parents were ill and I had
many responsibilities.
This led me to choose a career in which I could be stable and
finally use my strengths.
I was strong in mathematics and physics,
and I liked those subjects.
As women, we encounter obstacles throughout our careers and we
must remain persistent.
We have to rise above these challenges,
be very thorough and use as many skills as possible.
I'm not sure if I succeed, but I still try to influence
young people.
And show them that we can be successful at it.
So, in the end, I see my role as being a pioneer, if you will.
I also had a drive to succeed to show that it can be done,
and that we can be happy in these careers.
